Sample Itinerary - Culinary Journey to the Piedmont

At our stunning villa and home for the week we'll cook together in the professional kitchen, where we'll prepare Piemontese pastas such as Agnolotti With Fontal, Fontina, Butter and Sage, braise locally raised beef in Barolo wine, and whip up a delicious Zabaglione with Pears Poached in Moscato wine. We'll explore all the Piedmont has to offer: private tastings with top Barbaresco and Barolo producers such as La Spinetta and Famiglia Anselma, attend the Truffle Fair in Alba, tour Berta - one of Italy's most reknown grappa distilleries, go truffle hunting near the villa, and eat at a "Slow Food" restaurant. Day One

Our bus and my assistant will meet everyone in Torino in the late afternoon and transfer to the villa. Arrive at the villa to a grand welcome and sumptuous dinner.

Day Two

First hands-on cooking class with Joanne at the villa, followed by al fresco lunch. Free time to tour the villa and relax by the pool. Afternoon cooking class and comparative local wine tasting followed by dinner at the villa.

Day Three

Morning tour of the town of Barbaresco. Private tour and tasting at the Enoteca Regionale di Barbaresco and the famous Produttori del Barbaresco with Joanne's friend Aldo. Lunch at a wonderful enoteca in Barbaresco. Afternoon cooking class and dinner at the villa.

Day Four

Morning excursion to the charming medieval town of Cherasco for a tour and tasting at one of the top producers of "Baci di Cherasco" - chocolate kisses with local hazelnuts and other confections. Lunch at an excellent restaurant in the center of Barolo. Afternoon tasting and tour at the Enoteca Regionale di Barolo. Demonstration class and dinner at the villa.

Day Five

Morning trip to the town of Neive for a special visit and grape harvesting lesson. Lunch at an incredible enoteca in the town of Neive with free time for shopping and exploring. Return to the villa for an afternoon cooking class followed by dinner at the villa.

Day Six

All-day excursion to Alba for the White Truffle Fair and Wine Exposition! We'll sample everything truffle as well as local wines and have lunch at a popular enoteca. Free time for exploring and shopping in Alba, then we'll meet for our celebration dinner at Joanne's favorite Slow Food restaurant!

Day Seven

Goodbye breakfast and farewells! Bus will transfer you to Torino mid-morning.
